The most common question we get at TUKE Bazaar is "what size should I order in La Veste?" As the exclusive US stockist of the brand, we've helped hundreds of customers find their fit — here's everything we know.
The short answer: size up
La Veste is designed and handmade in Spain, and like many European labels, it runs small by American standards. Our rule of thumb after fitting customers in store: if you're between sizes — or in any doubt at all — go one size up. This is especially true for pants and shorts, where the high waist is meant to sit snugly but comfortably.
Even La Veste itself prints "in case of doubt, one size up" on its icon pieces. Trust it.
Parasol Pants
The Parasol pant is La Veste's signature: a high-waisted, straight-leg trouser in striped cotton, hitting just above the ankle.
- Fit: Regular through the hip and thigh, with a fitted high waist. Button fastening with a concealed zip — no stretch, so the waist measurement matters.
- Length: Above the ankle on most heights. This is intentional — the cropped line is part of the look.
- Tall? We've got you. La Veste offers an extra-long option that adds 5cm to the length without changing the size. Email us at tukebazaar@gmail.com before ordering and we'll arrange it.
- Our advice: Size up if your waist measurement is at the top of a size range. The cotton is sturdy and won't give much with wear.
Pippi Pants
The multi-striped Pippi pant fits similarly to the Parasol — high-waisted and straight-legged — but the mixed-stripe print is bolder. Same sizing logic applies: when in doubt, size up.
Towel Clothing
La Veste's beloved Towel clothing — the Pitaya Towel Dress, Carambola shorts, and friends — is cut from fringed cotton terry.
- Fit: Regular and slightly relaxed. The Pitaya is a short dress with front buttons, patch pockets, and fringe details at the sleeves.
- Sizing: The Pitaya dress is more forgiving than the pants. Most customers take their usual size, but if you prefer an easy, thrown-over-a-swimsuit fit, sizing up gives you that effortless beach-club drape.
- A big exception — Carambola shorts: These run very small and very short. We strongly recommend sizing up at least one size, and if you're between sizes or prefer more coverage, consider going up two. They're cut for a cheeky, sun-club length, so plan accordingly.
- Fabric note: 100% cotton terry, handmade in Spain. It softens beautifully with washing.
